In her first game as a Varsity Blue, fifth-year striker Jenny Wolever scored twice in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team to a 3-0 season-opening victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 31) in Kingston, Ont.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED: Wolever, a fifth-year transfer from the Queen's Gaels, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Miranda Badovinac, a third-year NCAA transfer from UAlbany, put the Blues up by two in the 33rd minute.
Â
Wolever added some insurance and her second of the match in the 59th minute to round out the scoring.
Fourth-year Blues goalkeeper Stephania Turyk made two saves in the clean sheet victory.Â
Â
UP NEXT: The Blues wrap up their weekend in Kingston against Wolever's old squad, the Queen's Gaels, tomorrow (Sept. 1) at 1 p.m.
