Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

WARRIORS GET PAST BLUES IN OT

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team fell 2-1 in overtime to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday, February 15 at Columbia Ice Field Arena.

PLAYOFF POSITIONING: The Blues are currently 12-6-2-3 (W-L-OTW-OTL) and tied for third place in the OUA standings, with only Queen's able to catch them heading into the final game of the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Waterloo's Brooklyn Cole opened the scoring late in the first period and the home team took that one-goal advantage all the way into the second intermission.

Fifth-year forward Kassie Roache got the Blues on the board and evened the game, sending a booming shot through traffic into the top corner of the net.

Waterloo's Hannah Street proved to be the game's hero, scoring 1:09 into the extra frame.

Rookie netminder Erica Fryer posted 25 saves in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Blues wrap up the regular season tomorrow (Feb. 16) as they travel to Guelph, Ont., to take on the Gryphons. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
