BLUES SET FOR ACTION-PACKED SATURDAY NIGHT AT GOLDRING CENTRE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's basketball teams host the Brock Badgers in their 2019-20 home openers this Saturday, November 2 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

The women start the action at 6 p.m., with the men to follow at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here. U of T students are free. Both games will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.

Fans won't want to miss our first Under Armour Games of the Week in Goldring Centre this season. The first 100 fans to the women's game will receive a free Varsity Blues fanny pack, while one lucky fan will have a chance to win two tickets to the Basketball Excellence Breakfast featuring 2019 NBA champion Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse in a men's halftime contest.

Raptors 905 colour analyst and court-side reporter Akil Augustine will be the Blues celebrity in-game host on Saturday night. He'll be alongside our live DJ, MITZO, who'll be playing hot tracks all night long.

Toronto's men opened the season with a road loss to 2018-19 OUA semifinalist Laurier last Wednesday night. The game saw second-year guard Inaki Alvarez notched a team-high 17 points, while rookie forward Anthony Daudu notched a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards in his first career game in the Blue and White.

The Blues women also dropped their season opener at Laurier, but a 19-8 fourth quarter effort brought them oh-so-close to a comeback win. Veteran forwards Nada Radonjic and Sarah Bennett led the charge. Radonjic tallied 17 points and seven boards, while Bennett recorded a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds.
