The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team were bested by the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night (Oct 12) by a score of 6-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Rams opened up the scoring midway through the first period with a goal from Matt Mistele. The Blues answered back just over two minutes later with a power play goal from Kyle Potts.
The Blues took a penalty early in the second period and it cost them. Holden Cook scored on the power play and almost three minutes later Zachary Shankar scored, giving the Rams a two goal lead early in the frame. Hunter Atchison and Nathan Hudgin would get the Blues back in the game, trading great passes and scoring back-to-back goals to tie the game up for the Blues.
Toronto couldn't get anything going in the third. They took ten shots in the third but all were stopped by Ryerson goalie Garrett Forrest. The Rams would score two on Blues goalie Frederic Foulem and topped it off with an empty netter.
UP NEXT: Toronto looks for revenge as Ryerson visits next Saturday (Oct 19) at 7:00pm at Varsity Arena.
