The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Brock Badgers on Thursday night (Oct. 10) at Seymour Hannah Centre in St. Catharines, Ont.
HOW IT HAPPENED: With Toronto trailing 2-0 after the first period, first-year defenceman Brendan Bornstein got the Blues on the board six minutes into the second frame. The social science major from Boston notched his first career goal, sending a booming shot from the point through traffic to beat Badgers goalie Mario Cavaliere.
The Badgers restored their two-goal advantage six minutes later as Jordan Sambrook scored on the powerplay and went up by three before the second intermission.
Brock added one in the third period to round out the scoring.
Second-year netminder Alex Bishop made 28 saves in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Blues are back in action this Saturday, October 12 as they head across town to take on the Ryerson Rams. Puck drop is set for 7:15 p.m.
