BLUES REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN 2019

Erica Fryer put up a 20 save shutout to help the University Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team take down the Queen's Gaels 1-0 on Saturday (Jan. 12) afternoon at Varsity Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED: It was a very tight and defensive battle, but the Blues were able to get on the board early. Brenna Berndsen's shot took a favourable bounce off the boards and Avery Henry potted in the opening goal at 13:46 into the first period. It was the first-year forward's second goal of the weekend and season. Toronto held on to the lead the rest of the way.

Fryer picked up her third shutout of the season and has won four of her last five starts.

UP NEXT: The Blues continue their five-game home stand next Saturday (Jan. 19) as they battle the Laurentian Voyageurs. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., at Varsity Arena.
