The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team opened the 2019 winter semester with a convincing 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) victory over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 12) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
TORONTO STATS:Â Chris Towe notched a game-high 13 points off of 12 kills and one ace, while adding six digs on the day.
Fellow veteran Alex Barnes had 10 kills and six digs, while Nick Trewern notched eight points and five digs.
Third-year setter Jordan Figueira tallied 33 assists and added 6.5 points and five digs, while libero Daniel Tudor led all players with 10 digs in the win.
UP NEXT:Â The Blues host the Waterloo Warriors tomorrow (Jan. 13) in U of T's fifth annual OVA Day at Goldring Centre. Opening serve is set for 3 p.m.
