The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated Ottawa 3-0 (25-19, 31-29, 25-21) in the gold-medal match to win the Gee-Gees Preseason Classic, September 28-30.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues went a perfect 5-0 during the tournament, dropping just one set to the Montreal Carabins. The Blues defeated Montreal 2-1 and went onto top Memorial, Guelph and Sherbrooke 2-0 before facing the Gee-Gees in the finals. Anna Licht was named the tournament's most valuable player, while Alina Dormann earned tournamet all-star honours.

UP NEXT: The Blues host the OUA and U SPORTS defending champion Ryerson Rams in exhibition action on Saturday, October 13 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
