MEN’S VOLLEYBALL DROPS CLOSE THREE SETS AT GUELPH

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (20-25, 21-25, 20-25) to the Guelph Gryphons on Friday night (Feb. 9).
 
With the loss, the Blues drop to 6-8 and remain tied for third place in the OUA East division standings.
 
Second-year outside hitter Alex Barnes led all players with 18 points off of 15 kills, two aces and one block.
 
Ken Dobson chipped in with 10 points off of nine points and one ace, while sophomore setter Jordan Figueira tallied 32 assists and eight digs on the night.
 
Rookie standout Ryan Smith added seven points and seven digs in the loss.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow night (Feb. 10) as they head to Waterloo to take on the Warriors. Opening serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
