MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYOFF PREVIEW: TORONTO AT LAURENTIAN

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team travels to Sudbury, Ont., to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs in OUA playoff action this Wednesday, February 21.

Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The Blues enter the playoffs on a four-game winning streak having finished the regular season with a 13-10 record, in fifth place in the OUA East division.

On the other hand, the Voyageurs are winless in their last five contests, finishing the season in fourth place with a 16-7 record in the East.

Toronto and Laurentian split their season series as the Blues dropped a 101-82 decision on Jan. 13 in Sudbury, before topping the Voyageurs 80-77 last Friday night at Goldring Centre.

Veteran guards Sage Usher and Reilly Reid have led Toronto, averaging 13.0 and 14.0 points per contest, while rookie Evan Shadkami has hit a hot streak, posting 14.6 points per game in the last five games.

Laurentian's Kadre Gray led the OUA in scoring with 24.4 points per game; however, suffered a season-ending injury two weeks ago.

A pair of Voyageurs will have step up in the post season. Nelson Yengue finished the season averaging 15.5 points per game, while David Aromolaran had 14.2 points per contest.

Should the Blues be victorious, they would travel to the nation's capital to take on either the Carleton Ravens or Ottawa Gee-Gees in quarter-final action on Saturday.
