The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's curling team traveled to Sault Ste Marie, Ont., for the 2018 OUA championships, February 15-18.
The Blues went 6-1 to finish atop the Pool A standings after four days of action. The Blues opened the championships with a 4-3 win over the Ryerson Rams, before falling to the UOIT Ridgebacks, 8-5, on Thursday night.
Toronto then went on a five-game win streak, defeating Algoma 9-2, Lakehead 5-4, Queen's 9-4, Trent 8-2 and Laurier 6-2.
That set up U of T for an OUA quarter-final versus the Brock Badgers on Sunday night. Unfortunately, Toronto fell short as the Badgers scored three in both the third and fifth ends en route to a 10-3 decision.
First-year lead Michelle Miller was named an OUA second team all-star for her stellar play throughout the championships.
