BLUES COME BACK TO BEAT GAELS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team took sole possession of second place after a 3-2 (22-25, 18-25, 28-26, 26-24, 15-8) come-from-behind victory over the Queen's Gaels on Friday night (Feb. 16) in Kingston, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 13-4 and sit two points ahead of the Gaels (12-5) with only two regular season games remaining. Toronto will look to hold their second-place standing, which gives them home court advantage in the OUA quarter-final round.

Third-year right side hitter Alina Dormann led the Blues with 18.5 points off of 16 kills, 1.5 blocks and one ace, while adding eight digs on the night.

Veteran middle Anna Licht notched a season-high 15 points off of nine kills, five blocks and one ace, while fourth-year left side Anna Feore had 14 points (13 kills, one block) and a game-high 24 digs in the victory.

Rookie Jenna Woock chipped in with 12 points off of seven kills, three blocks and two aces, while rookie setter Rayn Perry tallied 42 assists in the victory.

Gaels standout Shannon Neville led all players with 23.5 points off of 19 kills, four aces and an assisted block in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow as they take on the RMC Paladins in Kingston. Opening serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
