The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the UOIT Ridgebacks in a School Day Game on Friday, November 9 in Oshawa, Ont.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Third-year forward Breanna Berndsen opened the scoring five minutes into the game, sending a nice backhand past UOIT goalie Brooke Vial. It was all Ridgebacks from there as the home team scored two goals in less than three minutes to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second frame, UOIT added an insurance marker on the powerplay midway through the third period.
Second-year goalie Madeline Albert made 20 saves in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Blues travel to Kingston, Ont., to take on the Queen's Gaels tomorrow (Nov. 10) at 2 p.m.
