The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell 76-73 to the Waterloo Warriors in a back-and-forth nail-biter on Saturday night (Nov. 10).
HOW IT HAPPENED: Veteran guard Keyira Parkes led the Blues with 25 points, going 4-for-13, while adding seven boards, four assists and three steals on the night.
Jessica Muha put up an impressive 21 points in the game. The rookie forward dominated the free-throw line going 5-for-5 and 8-for-15 from the field and added six rebounds.Â
Nada Radonjic was the other U of T player to record double digits, tallying 12 points – eight of which came in the first quarter - while going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Ariana Sider added a team-high eight rebounds in the loss.Â
Four Warriors reached double digits on the night. Kaitlyn Overeem led with 19 points, while Vanessa Hughes had 13 and Meghan Sharp and Beth Howlett both tallied 11.
UP NEXT: The Blues will travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to play the Brock Badgers next Friday (Nov. 16). Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
