The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the Waterloo Warriors 94-55 on Saturday night (Nov. 10) in Waterloo, Ont.
TORONTO STATS: Fourth-year forward Daniel Johansson led the Blues with 15 points and eight boards, while rookie guard Inaki Alvarez also had 15 points and five steals on the night.
Sophomore standout Evan Shadkami tallied 14 points and five boards, with rookie forward Somachi Agbapu adding 10 points, four boards and three steals in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues struggled to find their groove in the first quarter, down 26-16 after 10 minutes of action. Toronto doubled up Waterloo in the second quarter to even the game at 36-36 at halftime.
Toronto went on to extend that to a 63-50 lead at the end of the third quarter, and eventually dominated the fourth quarter, holding Waterloo to just five points, with a final score of 94-55.
UP NEXT: The Blues are back in action next Friday (Nov. 16) as they head to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
