The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a narrow 2-1 decision to the York Lions on Wednesday, October 3 at Canlan Ice Sports.
HOW IT HAPPENED: After a scoreless first period, the Lions opened the scoring midway through the second frame and added another right before the intermission. Toronto got on the board 6:39 into the third period with a powerplay marker from Evan MacEachern, but the Blues couldn't solve Lions netminder Mack Shields, who ended the nigh with 38 saves, again. Second-year Blues goalie Frederic Foulem made 24 saves in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Blues travel to Buffalo for an exhibition tilt with Canisius College this Saturday, October 6 at 4:35 p.m. Toronto's home opener is slated for next Friday, October 12 as they host the Ryerson Rams at Varsity Arena at 7:00 p.m. Â
