The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team dropped a 46-8 decision to the No. 10 nationally ranked Gryphons on Saturday, October 13 in Guelph, Ont.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Second-year quarterback Vince Luccisano went 20-for-32 for 262 yards and one touchdown in his first career start. His favourite target was Daniel Diodati, who had nine receptions for 97 yards, while fellow sophomore Will Corby had four catches for 76 yards and one major. Grand LeGood also made three receptions for 63 yards on the day. Fourth-year linebacker Lamar Foyle notched a game-high 9.5 tackles and one break up, while Damoy Robinson had 6.5 tackles and one sack in the loss.
Luccisano connected a 30-yard pass with Corby early in the third quarter for Toronto's lone TD of the day.
UP NEXT: The Blues wrap up their 2018 season next Saturday, October 20 when they host the York Lions in the 49th annual Red & Blue Bowl at Varsity Stadium. Toronto will be honouring their graduating players in a special pre-game ceremony and will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1993 Yates and Vanier Cup championship team. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
