Second-year midfielder Nick Chiapetta scored two goals in leading the No. 10 University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over the Trent Excalibur on Wednesday night (Oct. 10) in Peterborough, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 10-3-0 and secure a home playoff match for the 2018 post season.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Chiapetta opened the scoring in the 14th minute and the Blues took the 1-0 lead into halftime. Nicholas Osorio put the Blues up 2-0 early in the second half and Chiapetta netted his second of the game in the 68th minute. Anthony Sousa rounded out the scoring with this ninth goal of the season in the 89th minute. Sebastian Sgarbossa earned the clean sheet in net.
