The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat 88-61 in exhibition action on Friday, September 29 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
Five Varsity Blues players recorded double-digit points on the night, led by third-year forward Daniel Johansson who scored a team-high 17 points on an efficient 7-for-14 from the field, adding three rebounds and one steal.
 
Fifth-year Blues guard Reilly Reid notched 14 points, two assists, and eight rebounds, while teammate Nikola Paradina added 12 points, three rebounds, and two blocks.
 
Varsity Blues rookie guard Evan Shadkami recorded 12 points.
 
UBCO Heat guard Aldrich Berrios led all players with 18 points, three assists, and five rebounds.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action on Thursday, October 5 when they host the University of Saskatchewan Huskies at Goldring Centre. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
