HARD FOUGHT LOSS FOR BLUES IN SEASON FINALE

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues dropped their final game of the season 3-0 to the visiting Guelph Gryphons Saturday evening (Feb. 25) at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Set scores were 25-17, 25-22, 25-22.

After a slow start resulting in a tough first set loss, the Varsity Blues found themselves with momentum late in both the second and third set challenging the OUA West second seeded Gryphons.

However, Guelph was able to hold off both late set surges for the three set sweep.

Veteran right-side Will Colucci led the Blues on the night with 12 points off of 11 kills and one solo block, while fellow veteran Aidan Haslett collected eight points from six kills, one service ace, and one solo block.

First-year setter Jordan Figuiera capped off his impressive rookie campaign recording team-high's in assists and digs with 30 and 12 respectively.

Guelphs Kendrick Kerr led all players on the night with 15 points from nine kills and six solo blocks.
