Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Waterloo Warriors on Friday night (Feb.24) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Set scores were 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.
With the loss, the Varisty Blues drop to a regular season record of 6-11, remaining in fifth place in the OUA East.
With a string of blocks in the second set, U of T had made a brief push to turn things around, but were unable to mount a comeback to answer the Warriors.
First-year outside hitters Nicholas Trewern and Alex Barnes each collected eight points in the game. Both players finished the night with six kills, one service ace and one solo block.
First-year setter Jordan Figueira also led the team with a total of 14 assists.
Warriors outside hitter Braden Cok led all players on the night with 15 points from 12 kills, one service ace, and two solo blocks.
The Blue and White play their final regular season game tomorrow night (Feb.25) against the Guelph Gryphons at Goldring Centre. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m.
