BLUES DROP BATTLE OF TORONTO

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell 78-69 to the No. 10 Ryerson Rams in Wednesday night's Battle of Toronto at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

The Blue and White out-duelled their in-town rivals through three quarters, holding a 64-54 lead heading into the final stanza. However, U of T went cold in the fourth hitting just two field goals in the period. The Rams defence allowed for a full momentum swing with Ryerson outscoring Toronto 24-5 en route to the come-from-behind victory.

Third-year forward Daniel Johansson led all Blues with a new career-high 23 points on an efficient 10-of-14 from the field, adding six rebounds. Three-point specialist Nikola Paradina recorded 14 points, including four field goals from behind the arc. Fifth-year slasher Reilly Reid added 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist to round out U of T's double-digit performances.

Rams guard Manny Diressa led all players with a game-high 27 points. The sharpshooter nailed seven three-pointers on the evening, shooting 7-of-9 from behind the line, adding seven rebounds and three assists. Fellow guard Jean-Victor Mukama also impressed filling up the stat sheet with 15 points, six rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and two blocks for the Rams.
