The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the University of Saskatchewan Huskies 88-66 in exhibition action on Thursday, October 5 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
The night saw five Blues hitting double-digit points. Rookie guard Evan Shadkami led the charge with 17 points, going 5-for-7 from beyond the arc on the night.
 
Fifth-year guard Reilly Reid notched 15 points, four assists and two rebounds, while teammate Daniel Johansson added 11 points, four rebounds and one assist.
 
Veteran Chase Ruttenberg and third-year forward Nicholas Morris recorded 10 points each.
 
Huskies standout Alex Unruh led all players with 27 points, three rebounds and one assist in the loss.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action on Friday, October 13 when they host the Saint Mary's University Huskies in a non-conference match at Goldring Centre. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
