STRONG THIRD QUARTER LEADS BLUES OVER HUSKIES

Six different players hit double digits as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 97-81 in exhibition on Friday night (Oct. 13) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
Leading 47-45 at halftime, the Blues used a 30-17 third quarter to seal the victory. Toronto shot 51.5% from the floor, including 48.1% from beyond the arc, and out-rebounded Saint Mary's 40-30 in the win.
 
Fourth-year guard Sage Usher recorded an impressive 11 assists, while also adding six points and three boards on the night.
 
Daniel Johansson notched a team-high 19 points and nine boards, while fifth-year veteran Reilly Reid had 18 points, five boards, two assists, one steal and one block.
 
Third-year guard Nikola Paradina had 17 points and five rebound, with Christopher Barrett adding 15 points and rookie Evan Shakami notching 10 points in the win.
 
Huskies guard Nikita Kasongo led all players with 21 points in the loss.  
 
The Blues are back in action tomorrow night as they host the UNB Varsity Reds at Goldring Centre. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
