Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell 3-2 (25-18, 17-25, 22-25, 25-18, 10-15) to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, January 28 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 4-6 and remain in fifth place in the OUA East division.

Fourth-year middle Zia Karim led the Blues with 15 points on 10 kills, four blocks and one ace. Rookie outside hitter Nicholas Trewern and sophomore middle Austin Valjas each had 14 points on the night. Trewern tallied a team-high 13 kills and one block, while adding 12 digs, with Valjas notching 11 kills and three aces.

Second-year outside hitter Zach Albert recorded 12 points on 10 kills and two aces, while libero Alex Ferris led all player with 18 digs. Rookie setter Jordan Figueira tallied a game-high 51 assists and added 10 digs in the loss.

Queen's was paced by Markus Trence's game-high 27 points, while Jamie Wright tallied 50 assists and Lukas Kaufman had 17 digs in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, February 4 as they host the No. 2 McMaster Marauders at Goldring Centre. Opening serve is set for 12 p.m.
