NO. 2 BLUES MAKE QUICK WORK OF LAKERS

Box Score Pushing their undefeated OUA regular season record to 9-0, the No. 2 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Nipissing Lakers in three quick sets Friday night (Jan. 20) in North Bay, Ontario. Set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-13.

OUA kills per set and points per set leader Alina Dormann proved once again why she is the reigning U Sports rookie of the year and OUA player of the year leading all players with 17 points on the night. Dormann utilized her size and strength to collect 15 kills, one service ace, and one blocked shot on the night.

Meanwhile, left-side threat Anna Feore also picked up double-digit points registering 10 kills and one service ace en route to an 11 point performance.

Fifth-year setter Madelyn Mandryk secured 32 assists in the three set contest while libero Asli Ersozoglu led all players defensively with 14 digs.

The Varsity Blues now return to the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport for a four-game home stand. Action begins next Friday (Jan. 27) with U of T playing host to the RMC Paladins, followed by the Varsity Blues annual Think Pink, #BleedBlue game Saturday evening (Jan. 28). First serve for both matches is scheduled for 6 p.m with Saturday's action being streamed live on OUA.tv.
