DORMANN DELIVERS CAREER NIGHT VS GAELS

Box Score The No. 4 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Queen's Gaels 3-1 Saturday night (Nov. 5) in Kingston, Ontario. Set scores were 19-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.

Reigning CIS rookie of the year and OUA East player of the year Alina Dormann delivered a career night setting a new career-high in points and kills in the four set victory with 22 kills, 3.5 blocks, and one service ace for 26.5 total points.

The Blues also received strong offensive efforts from left side Anna Feore and a pair of middles in Anna Licht and Veronica Derylo. Feore registered 10 kills and added 16 digs defensively while Licht and Derylo combined for nine kills and four blocks. 

Veteran setter Madelyn Mandryk notched 44 assists on the night while libero Asli Ersozoglu proved to be a thorn in the side of the Gaels attack leading all Blues with 18 digs.

The Varsity Blues now return home to the Goldring Centre where they will welcome the Nipissing Lakers and York Lions next weekend (Nov. 12-13). Both matches will see first serve at 2 p.m. with the Sunday contest versus the Lions being streamed live on OUA.tv.
