BLUES PICK UP FIRST WIN IN FIVE-SET SHOWDOWN

Box Score Behind a career best effort from fourth-year outside hitter Will Colucci, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team picked up their first win of the season knocking off the RMC Paladins Friday night (Nov. 4) in a tight five-set contest. Set scores for the match were 23-25, 25-15-27-25, 25-18, 16-14.

Colucci notched 25 kills in the five-set thriller matching a career-high set last season against the very same RMC Paladins.

First-year setter Jordan Figuiera raised the bar in just his second OUA game as a Varsity Blue picking up an increidble 54 assists.

Fellow first-year Nicholas Trewern also proved to be formidable on the left side finishing behind only Colucci in scoring for the Blues with 15 kills.

Third-year libero-outside hybrid Alex Ferris led all players in the match defensively with 18 digs.

The Varsity Blues will have little time to rest as they return to the court tomorrow evening (Nov. 5) to take on the Queen's Gaels. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. with the match being streamed live on OUA.tv.
