Box Score The No. 2 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Trent Excalibur in straight sets on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 27) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Set scores were 25-8, 25-15, 25-17.

The win marks head coach Kristine Drakich's 400th career victory for the Varsity Blues and also improves U of T to 7-0 heading into the December exam break. In her 28 seasons as Blues bench boss, Drakich has amassed a 400-125 coaching record over regular season and playoff matches. Â

Rookie outside hitter Emma Armstrong led all players with 10.5 points on eight kills, two aces and an assisted block. She also posted five digs in the contest.

Second-year right side hitter and reigning OUA East player of the year Alina Dormann also played a strong game, notching 10 points with nine kills and one ace, while also adding five digs.

Third-year veteran Veronica Derylo added eight points on five aces, two blocks and one kill, while fourth-year setter Erin Jacobs posted 17 assists in the win. Anna Feore notched seven kills and a team-high 10 digs on the day.

Trent's Camile Garzon led her team with 6.5 points off of four kills and 2.5 blocks.
The Varsity Blues resume regular season play in the New Year as they travel to Thunder Bay on January 14 to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
