Box Score Second-year right side hitter Alina Dormann recorded a career-high 30.5 points in leading the No. 2 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team to a 3-2 (22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26, 15-12) victory over the Ryerson Rams on Friday night (Nov. 25) at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
With the win, the Blues improve to 6-0 and remain in first place in the OUA East division, while the Rams drop to 5-3 and sit second.

Dormann recorded a career-best 28 kills, while adding 1.5 blocks, one ace and seven digs on the night.

Third-year middle Anna Feore added a career-high 17.5 points on 16 kills, one ace and an assisted block, while also adding 11 digs. Sophomore middle Anna Licht tallied a career-high 14 points on 11 kills, two aces and one block, while rookie Emma Armstrong notched 12 points and a game-high 19 digs.

Fifth-year setter Madelyn Mandryk also added to the career-best performances on the night, tallying 62 assists and 12 digs in the victory. Third-year libero Asli Ersozoglu matched her career-high with 18 digs.

Theanna Vernon led the Rams with 23 points on 13 kills, seven blocks and three aces in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action this Sunday, November 27 as they wrap up the fall semester versus the Trent Excalibur at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Opening serve is set for 1 p.m.
