Box Score The No. 3 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Nipissing Lakers in straight sets Saturday afternoon (Nov. 12) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Set scores were 25-12, 25-15, 25-7.

The win gives the Blues a 4-0 record thus far as they hold first place in the OUA East standings.

Second-year right side hitter and reigning OUA East player of the year Alina Dormann led all players with 14 points. She had 10 kills, one ace, and four blocks. Dormann also posted six digs in the contest.

U of T first-year Emma Armstrong also played a strong game with nine points, consisting of seven kills and two aces, also adding four digs.

Setters Erin Jacobs and Madelyn Mandryk split duties, racking up 11 and 17 assists, respectively. Blues libero Asli Ersozoglu leading all players with 16 digs in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to the Goldring Centre tomorrow (Nov. 13) to challenge the York Lions in U of T's third annual OVA Day. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

Toronto will be celebrating 2016 Olympians Heather Bansley and Kristina Valjas in a special ceremony following the match.
