FOURTH-QUARTER COME BACK FALLS SHORT VS NO. 7 BADGERS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team came oh-so-close, but dropped a narrow 71-69 decision to the No. 7 nationally ranked Brock Badgers on Saturday night (Nov. 12) in St. Catharines, Ont.
 
Fifth-year forward Devin Johnson led all players with a double-double of 23 points and 10 boards, while fellow veteran forward Manny Sahota had 16 points and five rebounds on the night.
 
Third-year guard Sage Usher tallied 14 points, four assists and four steals in the loss.
 
Down 50-39 after three quarters, the Blues exploded for 30 points in the fourth quarter to bring the game within reach. Johnson hit three consecutive free throws with three seconds remaining to bring the game within one, but time expired before the Blues could complete the comeback.
 
Ryan Bennett led the Badgers with 20 points, with Daniel Cayer adding 12 points and nine rebounds in the victory.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 18 as they host the Laurentian Voyageurs at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here. The game will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
