The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team fell 13-5 to the Guelph Gryphons Saturday morning (Oct. 15) at Day 2 of the OUA Championship hosted by U of T at the Ajax Sportsplex.
Toronto opened the contest on fire jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead courtesy an impressive two run, two out single from Tanner Young-Schultz.
However, the Gryphons bats broke out in the fifth inning as Guelph was able to cash in eight runs highlighted by a two run home run from Matthew Forer for which the Blues had no response.Â
Starting pitcher Colin Edwards pitched four innings, striking out five while giving up five earned runs.
