The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's water polo team defeated the Queen's Gaels 15-5 and Carleton Ravens 13-6 to open the 2016 U of T Invitational on Saturday, October 1 at Varsity Pool.

Game 1: Toronto 15, Queen's 5
The Blues dominated the first half, leading 8-0 at the midway point of the game. The Gaels began to find their scoring touch, but Toronto outscored their Queen's counterparts 4-2 in the third quarter and deadlocked 3-3 in the fourth to round out the victory.

First-year standout Kassandra Fraser led the Blues with five goals, while veteran Alexandra Kraft notched four goals in the win. Megan MacCormac tallied two, with Ana Miroslavic, Cambria Greer, Katrina Jensen and Rhianna Wood adding single tallies in the victory.

Game 2: Toronto 13, Carleton 6
Rhianna Wood led the Blues with three goals, while Ana Miroslavic, Cambria Greer, Alexandra Kraft and Megan MacCormac scored two on the night.
Katrina Jensen and Kassandra Fraser added single tallies in the victory.Â

The Blues are back in the pool tomorrow, hosting the McMaster Marauders (9:15 a.m.) and Toronto Golden Jets (1:25 p.m.) to wrap up the U of T Invitational.
