Box Score The No. 3 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball teams undefeated streak continues as they took down the visiting RMC Paladins in straight sets (25-13, 25-9, 25-15) Saturday evening (Jan. 30) at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport, extending their perfect season to 14 games.
Toronto utilized a strong service game and superior net play to pick up their 11th consecutive straight-sets victory. As a team, U of T collected six serving aces along with eight total blocks while also seeing nine different Blues record a kill on the night.
Fourth-year left side Caleigh Cruickshank led all players with 12 kills and a game-high 11 digs, as well as two serving aces and a blocked shot.
Just behind Cruickshank was OUA kills leader Alina Dormann who recorded five kills, nine digs, two blocked shots and one service ace.
Setters Madelyn Mandryk and Erin Jacobs split time running the offence with Mandryk registering seven assists and Jacobs scoring 11.
For the Paladins, team leader Kara Stephens led the way with seven kills, seven digs and a serving ace. Outside hitter Delanie Chang followed that up with five kills and 10 digs. Setter Madison Cross finished the match with 17 assists and six digs.
The Varsity Blues will now hit the road and head to the nation's capital for a matchup with the Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday, February 6. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
