BLUES ADVANCE TO PLAYOFFS WITH BIG WIN OVER GAELS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the Queen's Gaels 87-79  to advance to the postseason in their regular season finale on Saturday night (Feb. 21) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

The win moves the Blues into third place in the OUA East with a 6-13 record. The Gaels season comes to an end as they finish fourth with a 5-14 record.

The Blues now await the OUA playoff schedule announcement, set to come out tomorrow (Sunday).

Third-year forward Devin Johnson notched a team-high 18 points and added 13 rebounds in the victory. Fourth-year guard and team captain Julian Clarke added 17 points, five boards and three assists, while both Kwasi Oti-Awere and Sage Usher had 13 points on the night. Usher came up with two big blocks late in the game.

Manny Sahota ended the game with 12 points and six boards, while Dylan Churchill had eight points in the win.
 
Queen's was led by Sukhpreet Singh's 20 points, while Greg Faulkner had 18 in the loss.
