Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell 104-68 to the No. 3 Ryerson Rams on Wednesday night (Feb. 11) at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
Ryerson won the inaugural BIA Cup, winning three of four of the men's and women's basketball season series with Toronto.
Third-year forward Devon Johnson led Toronto with 18 points, while fourth-year guard Julian Clarke had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Denis Ankrah and Manny Sahota each added nine points in the loss.
Ryerson's Aaron Best tallied a game-high 27 points, while Jahmal Jones had 21 points and 12 boards in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to the court this Saturday, February 14 as they travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers. Tip off is set for 3 p.m.
Game Notes: The Harbord Street Business Improvement Area (BIA) has partnered with the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA), which represents 78 local BIAs and over 35,000 local businesses, to foster a cross-town basketball rivalry between U of T and Ryerson by creating the BIA Cup.
