MEN`S BASKETBALL FALLS TO NO. 6 MUSTANGS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men`s basketball team fell 81-56 to the No. 6 nationally ranked Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 22) in London, Ont.

With the loss, the Blues wrap up the fall semester with a 1-4 record, in fourth place in the OUA East division, while the Mustangs improve to 3-2 and are in third in the West.

Fourth-year forward Devin Johnson recorded a game-high 24 points, adding eight rebounds and two steals in the loss.

Veteran Manny Sahota notched 11 points and three boards, while fellow forward Daniel Johansson  had 10 points and six rebounds on the day.

Anthony Spiridis led the Mustangs with 24 points, while Greg Morrow had 19 points in the win.

The Varsity Blues are back in action on Friday, January 8 when they host the York Lions at Goldring Centre.

This coming Saturday, November 28, Toronto`s women host the Ryerson Rams in the Bell NBA All-Star Challenge, presented by Air Miles, at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

For the first time in the history of the NBA, the All-Star game is being played outside of the United States. The NBA, with partners, Bell, BMO, Air Miles and Samsung are going across the country to celebrate this monumental year for Canadian Basketball.

Leading the way is the Bell NBA All-Star Challenge, presented by Air Miles, which is making a stop at U of T next Saturday.

The pre-qualifying tournament runs 12-3pm followed by the game vs Ryerson at 6pm.

It's a full day of excitement and entertainment that includes the Raptors Dance Pak, the Raptor himself as well as NBA legend and former Toronto Raptor Mo Pete, Morris Peterson.
