Box Score 2 The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladins 3-0, before falling to the Queen's Gaels 3-0 this past weekend (Oct. 30-31) in Kingston, Ont.
The Blues are 2-1 to start the season and sit tied for third place in the OUA standings.
Toronto 3, RMC 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-20)Fifth-year left side hitter Stegan Ristic led the Blues with 18 points, notching 14 kills, two aces and two blocks, while also adding eight digs. Team captain Aidan Haslett had a game-high 15 kills and seven digs, while Andrew Kos notched 12 digs and Alex Ferris recorded five kills and 11 digs.
Veteran setter Aleksa Miladinovic came up with 11 assists, 10 digs and two blocks in the victory.
Queen's 3, Toronto 0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-21)Ristic once again led the Blues, recording a game-high 14 kills, two aces and seven digs. Ferris chipped in with six kills and six digs, while Miladinovic tallied 24 assists, four digs and five blocks in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Sunday, November 8 as they host the Ryerson Rams in their 2015-16 home opener at Goldring Centre. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
