SOLID TEAM EFFORT PUSHES STREAK TO 12

Box Score The No. 4 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Western Mustangs 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-13) on Friday, January 16 in London, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 12-0 and remain atop the OUA East standings. Toronto has dropped a mere two sets all season, notching their 10th shutout victory tonight.

The usual suspects were at it again as fifth-year left side hitter Charlotte Sider led the Blues with 12.5 points, tallying eight kills, seven digs, three aces and two blocks.

Fellow veteran Jennifer Neilson led all players with nine kills, while adding six digs and two blocks, with Bojana Radan notching four kills, five blocks and three digs.

Caleigh Cruickshank continues to impress with six kills on the night. Madelyn Mandryk, who leads CIS setters with 10.61 assists per set, recorded 28 assists and a team-high nine digs in the victory.

Western was led by Kelsey Veltman, who notched eight kills and five blocks in the loss.

The Varsity Blues look to continue their winning ways tomorrow as they head to Windsor, Ont., to take on the Lancers. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
