Fourth-year middle Bojana Radan led the Blues with nine kills and two blocks. Left side hitter Charlotte Sider notched six kills, two aces and two blocks, while Caleigh Cruickshank followed her teammate closely with eight kills, five digs and one ace.

Denise Wooding tallied a team-high 18 digs, with Madelyn Mandryk adding 31 assists and eight digs in the victory.

Cruickshank gave Toronto a 16-15 advantage at the first set technical time out and, thanks to four kills from Radan, U of T took the first set 25-21.

Both teams traded the lead early in the second until the Blues 4-0 run and a Sider ace gave U of T a 16-9 lead at the break. Guelph middle Nicole Collard ended a Blues seven-point streak with a strong block, but it wasn't enough as Toronto gained the 2-0 match lead, 25-13.

The Blues kept their momentum going and a Sider kill put Toronto up 16-12 at the timeout. Guelph's left side hitter Madison Dedeker attempted to rally the troops, but a final ace from Sider sealed the win 25-16.

The Varsity Blues return to the court on Friday, January 16 as they travel to take on the Western Mustangs in London, Ont. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
