FEORE JOINS WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL IN 2014-15

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball program is pleased to announce that Anna Feore has accepted her offer of admission and committed to play for the Blues starting this fall.

The 5-foot-10 left side hitter from Stratford, Ont., was recently honoured as an Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) all-star for the second consecutive season. She has accepted her offer to study life science at U of T's Victoria College.

"Anna will be a great addition to our program," said Kristine Drakich, who enters her 26th season as U of T's head coach in September. "She is a very bright student and a talented athlete. She's a skilled and passionate volleyball and beach volleyball player and will add strength to our outside hitting position."

Feore, who was a member of Team Ontario in 2013, comes to U of T from the Forest City Volleyball Club in London, Ont. The squad will compete at the 18U Ontario championships in Waterloo this weekend (April 25-27) and the national championships in Edmonton from May 9-11.

Feore also led the Stratford Central Secondary School to a silver medal at the 2014 OFSAA  'AA' championships.

"My choice of accepting my offer to U of T was an easy one to make," said Feore. "I am very impressed by the atmosphere of the whole university. I'm excited to be attending Victoria College and am especially excited to become a Varsity Blue and play for amazing coaches like Kristine Drakich.  I can't wait to be at a university where I can pursue my athletic goals as well as my academic goals. U of T seems like the perfect fit for me."

The University of Toronto is the proud host of the 2015 CIS Women's Volleyball Championship, February 26 – March 1, at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
