Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladinsa 3-2 (15-25, 25-19, 16-25, 25-10, 15-9) on Saturday night in Kingston, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 15-3 and to clinch first place in the OUA East division, with one regular season game remaining. Toronto will host the fourth seed in the East in an OUA quarter-final on Saturday, February 15 at 1 p.m.
Fourth-year left side hitter Charlotte Sider (Ottawa) led all players with 16 kills. Sider added two serving aces, 11 digs and two blocks in the win. Jennifer Neilson tallied 14 kills and 15 digs, while Tessa Davis notched 12 kills and two blocks.
Rookie Kate Lonergan took on the libero role, recording 23 digs.
Malena Rapaport and Julia Bellehumeur split time in the setter position, posting 27 and 18 assists, respectively.
Chelsey Litjens lead the Paladins with 14 kills and three serving aces, while teammate Cassidy Chang recorded 29 assists.
The Varsity Blues will be back in action tomorrow when they take on the Queen's Gaels in Kingston, Ont., at 1 p.m.Â
