The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's track team finished second while the men were sixth in the final standings at the OUA track and field championships which concluded at York University on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon.

The Guelph Gryphons women earned gold for the second-straight season, earning 150.5 points to top the standings. The Windsor Lancers men's team reclaimed gold in the team competition. The Lancers had won 14 consecutive conference banners but had their streak snapped when Guelph won in 2013.Â

The Varsity Blues women moved up two spots after finishing Day 1 at the championships in fourth-place, finishing in a tie for second after amassing a total of 136 along with the Western Mustangs. Katia Vasilyeva (pictured) captured a gold medal in the women's high jump with a height of 1.72m, while Julia Stille took home bronze in the triple jump (12.06m) in the field portion of the second day of competition.

On the track, Gabriella Stafford finished atop the podium in the women's 1500m, clocking in with a time of 4:28.71. The 4x400m relay team also claimed gold in their event. Maggie Hanlon, Fiona Callendar, Natalie Geiger and Rachel Jewett finished ahead of the competition with a time of 3:45.50. Callendar and Honor Walmsley rounded out the women's medal count, taking second (1:32.50) and third (1:32.65) in the women's 600m.

On the men's side, Townsend Benard reached the podium in the pole vault, notching a height of 4.73m. Marc McGuire was fourth in the triple jump (13.73m). The men totalled 49 points throughout Friday and Saturday, finishing sixth in the final rankings.
