BLUES HOST WINDSOR, WESTERN THIS WEEKEND

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team hosts the Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs this Friday and Saturday night (Nov. 28-29) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

Game time on both days is 7 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here.

The Varsity Blues are 2-7 and in ninth place in the OUA standings, but only four points back of sixth place. Toronto is coming off a 3-0 loss to the No. 2 McMaster Marauders on Sunday afternoon.

Left side hitters Kyle Fick and Jake Dysselhof lead the team with 2.69 and 2.81 kills per set, respectively. Fifth-year veteran Dave Merritt has notched 2.46 kills per set, while rookie Thomas Meier has made his name known of late, averaging 3.5 kills per set in Toronto's last three matches.

Team captain Michael Denton ranks fifth among OUA setters, averaging 9.61 assists per set, while first-year libero Alex Ferris has notched 2.19 digs per set so far this season.

The Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs are both 4-4 and in a three-way tie for sixth with the Queen's Gaels.

Windsor is led by outside hitter Gabriel Burlacu, who averages 3.8 points per set, while Western's Justin Scapinello leads the league with 5.5 points per set.
