Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell 4-1 to the No. 9 McGill Redmen on Saturday night (Nov. 22) at McConnell Arena in Montreal.
With the loss the Blues drop to 4-8-1, while McGill improves to 11-3-0 and sits atop the OUA East division.
The Redmen opened the scoring midway through the first period with a goal from Jonathan Brunelle and extended their lead to two with a powerplay goal from Patrick Delisle-Houde to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
Marc-Olivier Vachon extended the lead to 3-0 1:32 into the second frame. Toronto's Kevin Deagle spoiled the shut out with 3:14 remaining in the game, but McGill added an empty netter to round out the win.
Blues netminder Michael Nishi posted 32 saves in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 28 as they host the Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
