BLUES HOST MARAUDERS IN SUNDAY SHOWDOWN

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues volleyball teams host the McMaster Marauders on Sunday, November 23 at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

The women start the action at 1 p.m., with the men to follow at 3 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The No. 4 U of T women's volleyball team are a perfect 7-0 and sit atop the OUA East division. They will be out for revenge after falling to the Marauders, who are 5-2 and second in the West, in semi-final action last year.

Fifth-year left side hitter Charlotte Sider leads the Blues and ranks second in the OUA with 3.7.3 points per set. Fifth-year right side Jennifer Neilson sits sixth in the province, averaging 3.29 kills per set, while Blues setter Madelyn Mandryk leads all players in the country with 10.64 assists per set.

McMaster is led by outside hitter Joanna Jedrzejewska, who averages four points per set.

The Varsity Blues men's volleyball team are 2-5 and in ninth place in the OUA. They are coming off a 1-1 weekend, having defeated Nipissing 3-2 before falling to York 3-1. U of T travels to Waterloo for a tilt with the Warriors on Saturday, before hosting the Marauders Sunday.

A trio of Blues lead the squad. Dave Merritt, Jake Dysselhoff and Kyle Fick all average 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2 points per set, respectively. Team captain Michael Denton ranks third in the OUA, averaging 10.07 assists per set.

The OUA defending champion Marauders are 7-1 and tied for first place in the OUA. Middle Danny Demyanenko leads the squad with 4.4 points per set so far this season.
