Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell 113-75 to the No. 2 Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday night (Jan. 17) at Montpetit Hall.
With the loss, the Blues drop to 2-11 and remain in eighth place, while the Gee-Gees improve to 12-1 and are tied for first in the OUA East.
Fourth-year guard and Hamilton, Ont., native Matt Savel notched a career-high 16 points, with Blues leading scorer Alex Hill (Toronto) also adding 16 points on the night. Veteran Laszlo Schuetz also recorded a career-high 11 points in the loss.
Seven Gee-Gees reached double digits, with Moe Ismail leading the way with 22 points in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow night as they take on the No. 1 Carleton Ravens in Ottawa. Game time is set for 8 p.m.Â
