BLUES BOUNCE BACK VERSUS HAWKS

Fourth-year midfielder Michael Buwalda scored four goals and added three assists in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team to a dominant 13-3 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 29) at Varsity Centre.

The Blues got out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and didn't look back. Leading 7-0 after halftime, Jordan Bennett got Laurier on the board early in the second half. Connor Bullock and Ben Sherry tallied the Hawk's other two goals in the fourth quarter.

Marc Anthony Koukoulas (Walpole, Mass.) notched three goals, while A.J. Masson (Newmarket) added two goals and two assists on the day.

Corey Wright, Dillon McDonald, Justin Crofts and Jordan Tingle each added a single tally in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 5 as they travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
