SCHULTZ LEADS BLUES SWIMMERS AT FISU GAMES

Paige Schultz earned two bronze medals to lead the Varsity Blues swimming contingent at the 2013 Summer Universiade (July 6-17) in Kazan, Russia.

The Toronto native and University of Toronto Scarborough Campus student was a member of Canada's bronze-medal winning 4x100 and 4x200 freestyle relay teams. She also finished seventh in the women's 200 IM in a time of 2:17.44.

Two-time Varsity Blues male athlete of the year Zack Chetrat earned a seventh-place finish in the men's 200 butterfly.

The Oakville, Ont., native  finished in a time of 1:58.92.
 
"I'm taking more time off each time I swim this year but I'm still not where I want to be," said Chetrat, who swam in his first final at an international meet. "I raced some great guys and put together a solid race."

Heather Maitland, Frank Despond, Edward Liu and Chris Manning also represented U of T at the Games.
